Malta International Fireworks Festival

Had fun this evening shooting fireworks. Not exactly my cup of tea. The Grand Harbour in Valletta was lighted with a vivid display of fireworks, syncronised to music for the 11th annual festival. Maltese and foreign factories  presented some really spectacular pyrotechnic displays.

George Cross 70th Anniversary

Malta this weekend is celebrating it's 70th Anniversary of the award of the George Cross to the island.The Duke of Gloucester accompanied President George Abela and the Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi in wreath laying yesterday morning, during a ceremony at the Seige Bell monument in Valletta.

Later in the evening, the Duke attended the inauguration of the restoration of the War Memorial in Floriana.

UEFA President unveils new football facilities

UEFA President, Michel Platini unveiled the new football facilities for a Maltese third division club, Fgura United. Mr.Platini inaugurated these facilities during a short visit on the Maltese islands, which are part of UEFA's Hat Trick programme for grass root teams.

BOV Premier - Relegation pool

Two games where played today at the Kordin football ground. Hamrun Spartans hit six goals past Marsaxlokk, while Qormi have beaten Tarxien 1-0 ten minutes from time.
